EXCEPT... as I recently found out, Alsace Pinot Blanc can be up tp

100% Auxerrois. Don't you just love French wine law :-)

Yeah, since Pinot Blanc is not considered a noble grape (you can't have grand cru Pinot Blanc no matter where it's grown), they're looser than with Riesling, Muscat, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Gris.

And in California, I think a lot of Pinot Blanc is really Melon (Muscadet).
