Re: seeking testers for new wine softare

I think anyone who says a piece of code is "perfectly stable" and "safe for your computer" either knows not much about soft eng and the software cycle, or is being slightly Howard-esque with the truth.

There's also the possibility it has malicious embedded code (nigh on impossilbe to find even if you know what ur looking for and have managed to procure the source code), so ud wanna be a little wary. Ppl love getting malicious code to ppl thru ngs.

Of course Pierre could well be a top shelf good guy, but "perfectly stable" in regards to software makes me snort wine thru my nose. :o\ [always manage to bring it back OT] ;-)

"I saw the code for your computer program yesterday. It looked easy. Its just a bunch of typing. And half of the words were spelt wrong. And dont get me started on your over-use of colons."

Just wanted to thank those that have volunteered to test my new software. For those that expressed concerns about the safety of testing new software I can say mine is perfectly stable (won't crash or harm your machine) based on 15 years of development experience and the fact that I was not in a hurry to get this to market so I tested the hec out of it myself on 6 different machines (win95, win98, win2000, winxp, Mac and OSX). At this point I just want to see if it meets some needs and I am looking for some friendly suggestions for reporting etc. In response to Mike Tomasi, sorry but no free wine. I need it all for those late nights when I am developing my software. :-) Helpful testers will however receive a free copy of my 2003 vintage software, a truly fine blend with just the right amount of bytes.

best regards,

Pierre Lessard.
