Semper, Caymus Tignanello

Got together with friends for wine and snacks yesterday afternoon.

2007 Semper Ellenbach Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir-A Tuck Beckstoffer project. Dark ruby in the glass. Nose of tart cherry and blueberry. Smooth and firm on the palate. Black cherry and blackberry flavors. Good acidity and tannins. Medium weight. More old world in style. "B"

2008 Caymus Napa Cabernet Sauvignon-Dark purple saturated color. Nose of pure vanilla not much else. Very candied on the palate. Creme de Cassis and sweet oak notes. Not my style. Too much oak and over ripe fruit giving the impression of residual sugar. "C"

2004 TIgnanello-Dark reddish purple with a hint of pink at the rim. Nose of espresso and stones with dark fruits. Well balanced flavors of black cherry, anise and black coffee. "A"
