Simi Sauv Blanc 2004

Jul 27, 2006 2 Replies

Hello, HAving looked into the possibilities of a US white for a starter as provided by the Swedish Monopoly, and having listened to the opinions of the valued members of the NG, we concluded that this was #1 suspect. C: Very pale. N: LAid-back, quite typical but lacking in exuberance. Black-currant leaves, asparagus, grass. P: Acidic attack, lacks in freshness, flabby fruit and something hinting at residual sugar.

At SEK 109 definitely not a good QPR.

SO far our problem is not solved ...

Cheers

I've not been fond of Simi whites, but they make a nice Cabernet Sauvignon.

Jose

I went to their tasting room and was totally unimpressed with even their reserved bottlings. At on time Simi made some good wines especially their reserve Chardonnay, but that ship seems to have sailed.
