The perfect wine for Thanksgiving

Yep. I had a memorable meal of roast guinea fowl at a beer hall in Munich (near the Frauenkirche -- don't remember the name. Andechs?) at about this time of year. The bird was served in its gravy with root vegetables. Had a beer, of course (sorry to go off-topic). Great meal, great company.

Never been able to replicate the recipe on my own, but I can still wistfully conjure the flavors from that meal, even though it was years ago. Thanks for prompting the memory.

Well, I opened the Velletri yesterday and it lived up to my expectations. Very nice wine, not too bold, not too timid. Went perfectly with the traditional turkey dinner.
