"Write like UC" contest

Yes, folks, this is the first "Write like UC" contest, the prize is a bottle of Velletri Rosso for your Christmas Turkey dinner.

All you have to do is enter a post imitating the flamboyant style of Uranium Committe. Keep it in this thread, keep it on topic and keep it fun. Deadline is midnight sunday.

Once I declare the contest closed, during all next week readers can vote for the best entry by replying on this same thread before the end of the month. To keep it totally unfair, entries from F_____ will automatically get a positive handicap of 3 extra votes, entries from I______ get -3 votes handicap.

On December 1st I will declare the winner, and UC will ship a bottle of Velletri rosso to the lucky person, so he can enjoy it with Christmas Turkey.

Sharpen your pencils and get to it!

Write in the style of UC for a contest? What would be point of that? The style of UC is intended to be used for pompous posts in Newsnet. To make such a post for the purpose of a contest would be meanignless! Everyone knows that such pomposity only reaches its peak in the course of a Newsnet thread where it can have maximum cowing affect on anyone new enough to the group to dare ask a simple question.

Besides I can tell from your IP address that you are not posting from Italy and I only enter Italian writing contests. Italian writing contests are singularly excellent and so I don't waste my time on those of any other nationality.

First, this is an idiotic contect. Turkeys are not italian. If they were they would not be Sicilian. Also, you must make Turkey Cacciatore or parmagana if you want a chance.

Remember that Thanksgiving is an italian holiday. Christopher Columubus once commented that had it not been for Ohio, we would have never set sail for india.

May I recomment that wine is only to be consumed with food. And Thanksgiving is the best day if done italian style. The risoto stuffing is killer if undercooked turkey. Litterally.

When I first read this I thought, what is the deal with this guy? has he no clue, then I got all the way to the end and realized he not only had it down cold, I found myself double checking the return address.

Cancel the contest, award the prize an afternoon with Aldo Cella.
