This weekend was devoted, in part, to finishing the repainting of our bedroom, so Jean put together a quick 'n' dirty Boeuf Bourguinon this evening. For the cooking wine, she used a bottle that was in the "to drink" shelf and we consumed the rest of it with dinner:
2009 Arnot-Roberts Syrah "North Coast" nose: sappy dark berry fruit, minerals, a hint of pencil lead palate: medium body, smooth tannins, good acidityThis was a bottle we'd bought at the winery in March and it was as good as I remembered. Fairly simple, but clean Syrah fruit in nice, structured package.
