TN: Chablis, Nahe, MSR, Gevrey

Crab cakes, grilled eggplant, leftover broccoli rabe

2020 Pinson Mont de Milieu Chablis 1er Clean racy acids, apple fruit, some vanilla (I didn’t think Pinson used oak), went well with the food but I wouldn’t seek out. B-

Ginger/scallion chicken stirfry, sourdough discard scallion pancakes, bok choy

2015 Donnhoff Oberhauser Leistenberg Riesling Kabinett Peach and sweet pear, a little ginger, moderate acids, tasty profile but feels a little drawn into itself. Give it a little more time. B for now

2015 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett More open (opposite of what I expected), lithe and lovely. Snappy acids, clean apple and nectarine fruit, peach blossoms, long finish. B++

Pork chops (sous vide, finished on grill), corn, salad

2005 Raphet Gevrey-Chambertin Crunchy raspberry and cranberry fruit, a little pomegranate, herbs. Modest tannins, nice balance, no idea why I bought this but glad I did. Ready to go. B+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
