TN: Yum, liver!

So Thursday Betsy left Boston in early AM, came home, unpacked, packed. I took her to LGA for a flight to NC (recording and chamber rehearsals), then went back to work. After work, stopped by store for some groceries. I'm sad that I won't see Betsy for another week, but at least I can indulge my organ meat proclivities this week. So calves liver with onions formed the main course for Thursday's dinner. The wine- one of the all-time great $12 buys, my next to last bottle of the

2002 Clos de la Roilette (Coudert)Fleurie. Light on its feet, but with some serious depth. Flowers and crushed raspberries on the nose, bright acidity, cherry and raspberry fruit, earth and mineral on the nice finish. Beautiful light silky texture, pure and clear. I've probably drunk more of this than any other wine in last 12 months, and will miss it after next bottle. This is not DuBoeuf. A-

On my birthday (April 1) I can have anything I want for dinner. Every year it's the same - chicken livers, bacon and onions. Yum, indeed!
