Nice "cut and run" tactic, you twit. You were the one who dragged politics into this mess by making the Blair comparison in the first place. Stand by your words and defend them - or don't utter them in the first place.

There's a term for people like you: Chickenhawk. Open up the can of worms while feigning not to. You're all the same... passive-agressive types who don't have the guts to stand by their words.

Hi Mike,

Please do. In fact, if you won't mind, throw them in a carton with my postal address on it and marked "postage to be paid by addresse"! ;-)

Cheers

Difficult to explain and it is really a comment on our lifestyle as much as the wine. We tend to eat simple, light food on most of the days

- salad, soup, rice & vegetables, etc. Whilst I absolutely adore Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, it would be overkill for us on most evenings. A Morellino di Scansano bottle is something which I can open without thinking, ah well maybe half the bottle is going to get wasted. And an MdS is a pretty OK, even if not stunning, match for many meat dishes too.

No. Do you have any tasting notes?

Actually, I suppose you won't do it, no? Could you at least suggest some good makers from Languedoc and Roussillon please? Thanks!

Nope. Never do, never will.

My comparing you to Tony Blair was meant less as a political statement than a way to say you've allied yourself with our resident imbecile. As the subtlety is lost on you I'll make it a point to not address you in the future.

Coming from you, he should consider that a compliment. I would so love to have you say that to me. Your political commentary is not not surprising, given your attitude toward me. I consider insults from people like you par for the course. I won't stoop to your level.

You self appointed professors are real scary.

Your time on this newsgroup has been spent hurling insults at those who know far more about wine than you. As you seem to do it sporadically I suspect you may undergo periods where your low blood sugar is low, or that you suffer from manic depression. If you can find it within yourself to hold your tongue when the urge to flame overtakes you I anticipate you might still be forgiven. I'd rather not to drag this group through exchanges like these in the future.

The post below was not from me. Someone here in this group is malicious.

Dave, I am sorry someone likes me so much that they use flattery to imitate me.

So Sorry. I assure you this is not my post.

Some do know, but some only 'think' they do. I want to make it clear that I reject a lot of lore about wine. It does not hold up to scientific scrutiny. Those who persist in their mistaken views in the face of contrary evidence deserve scorn. I supply same.

It depends on my moods, yes, as it does with everyone. But I don't tolerate being patronized. Not at all. If I say something is true, you can take it to the bank. If it's something I have merely heard or am unsure about, I will qualify my statement accordingly. 'Breathing' wine is not something based on any empirical or scientific basis. Full stop. It therefore causes me great distress to read anyone advocating it. If you want to ruin your own wine, fine, but don't expect me to stand idly by while so-called 'experts' advise opening a wine "several hours" before serving. This is something that I am adamant about.

Disregarding the differences between cultures is another sore point with me. Treating Italian wines like those of other countries is a big mistake.

And the post above was not from me. Is this supposed to be news?

You've just now come to that conclusion? Not too quick on the uptake, are we, dearie?

Do you mean that you're not me and I'm not you? Of course. I am the real Audrey and you are some two-bit imposter.

The only imbecile here is the one throwing around poorly constructed analogies.

Thanks... it'll save me the time of explaining how you can add me to your killfile.

Actually, it's the nicest gift an annoying AFW'er has given me... knowing they will of their own volition ignore all of my future posts, despite whatever I say that might offend him.

Nice try, Chickenhawk! Try posting from a different mailserver next time (not anon.lcs.mit.edu). For the record, anyone posting snipurl.com links is just asking for trouble.

No apologies needed... the person reposted through dingoremailer.com. Stupid spoofers... chickenhawks, the lot of them.

Dave, I don't understand at least two things here.

1) How does a person post using another persons email address.

2) Secondly I don't understand how someone used my IP Address weeks ago...

3) What is a snipurl?

Also, whoever this is playing these games making me and the first Audrey post from same IP is not continuing with imposter postings.

My best guess is there are two persons here that seem to want to rise above the frey but don't really. Mark Lipton and or Dale Williams. My best guess is that they are potentially the ones behind some of these in my humble opinion.
