Umbria and Tuscany wineries to visit?

I'll be in Umbria in September and am interested in visiting some wineries in Umbria and Tuscany. I make wine so I like the kind of place where you can connect with the process. Looking for places I shouldn't miss.

Thinking about: Altesino Argiano Castelgiocondo Barone Ricasoli Isole e Olena Banfi

Don't have any candidates in Umbria yet? Been to any of these? Suggestions?

thx, dan

They were recommended because they are the best wines of Umbria. I have only had wines from the first two makers. These are not to be drunk young. 25 anni and St. giorgio are best after 10 years.

Most Tuscany producers(there are exceptions) are rather small farmers. They do not have the cable car, the art collection, and the big dog and pony show. They may charge for tasting wine.
