A friend gave med a bt. of this wine, and as far as I can see from surfing the net, he has been quite generous. But when should I enjoy it? My knowledge of better Californian reds is very limited, so any help would be preciated.
regards
Jan

Ahrg! I forgot to mention the vintage: 97.

Hello Jan,
Parker thinks it'll be good between 2000-2020. I have a bottle of it myself and am holding on to it, and I haven't tasted any yet.
No hurry. I'd hang onto it for another 5 to 10 years (assuming good cellar conditions).
1997 was a really good vintage for Napa Cabernets. Some of the more precocious 97s are approachable now, but even they are still improving and not yet at plateau.Tom S
Why wait, I say enjoy that fantastic bottle now.
Hmmmm...how's never?
Is never good for you?
