Which houses to visit in Reims

During the upcoming trip to France with my brother, we will be making a day trip (Monday the 24th of September) to Reims.

Aside from the Cathedral, what are the must sees? In particular, which Champagne houses should we try to arrange tours at? Note: we're taking the train there, and will not have a car during the day.

I know many of you will suggest going to Epernay instead, but alas, I've been there previously and would like to see Reims this time around :)

Thanks in advance,

- Chris

Taittinger gives a good tour and is right in town (between the cathedral and the train station. Be sure to visit the other church site -old monastery IIRC

Before I mention a few houses to visit I have to say that I like to walk. I am in Reims just about every year and walk to just about all of the houses. The closest to the railroad station would be Krug and Roederer. Roederer is at,21 Blvd. Lundy. I believe the street name for Krug is Rue Coqebert but if you turn your back the Roederer entrance and cross the street and go left for about 2 short blocks and walk sown the side street a short way you will see Krug on your left. Little longer walk from the station is Mumms, 34, Rue Du Champ de Mars. You can also always take a cab if you do not want to walk. You should make an appointment through your local wine merchant.
