Art: Where are you?

For what its worth, allow me to second Timothy's choice. A Tokay-Pinot Gris would be wonderful! Cheers

Hi,

A quick question: Is the Gewürztraminer from Alto Adige usually called Traminer Aromatico? Reminds me of a bottle I shared with 2 friends after a day at the F1 Monza race in a small Trattoria in Milano. It was just what the doctor ordered after a whole day of noice and excitement. Terrific to wind down with a big pot of minestrone.

Cheers

Ciò che ha detto TB ( snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.co.uk) è così interessante, che devo dire la mia:

No. The grape is the same, Traminer Aromatico is the exact translation into italian of the word gewurz(=aromatic)+traminer. Usually are so called the wines produced with this grape outside german liguage regions, i.e. outside Altoadige, but Altoadige Gewurztraminer is better. Definitely I can not imagine pairing Traminer with minestrone!!!

Luk

Thanks Luk.

I agree that Traminer with Minestrone is a funny match. I just was in a mood to drink Traminer and eat a vegetarian soup that evening, I guess.

Cheers
