At first I thought "why bother?", until I read that supermarkets normally don't sell wine there, so it is some sort of improvement. It has still way to go, I think, before the ideal situation is reached, where wine is available 24 hours a day.
No, in Pennsylvania wine is sold only through state-owned stores or by PA-based winemakers themselves. IIRC, these "vending machines" aren't exactly the stick-your-money-in-and-get-the-bottle type. You have to show your driver license or state ID to the machine and wait for approval from a state bureaucrat who is remotely monitoring the machine. I'll be glad if this state ever stops treating its citizens like subjects, but I'm not holding my breath.

Perhaps when casinos outnumber the state liquor stores we'll see a little loosening of the restrictions.
