Bottling Wine

Does anyone bottle their wine in standard size beer bottles and cap them?

Are the caps sufficient to keep the O2 out?

My brother-in-law uses old beer bottles but has rubber corks that fit .has a problem sometimes sterilizing the equipment. jack

Yes, I usually put some of my wine in 12 oz beer bottles. The crown caps are easy to use and do a GREAT job of sealing. It also makes for a very nice serving size.

I use them for giving to people whom you are not sure if they will drink it or not. I had some excellent apple wine that I found in the bottom of my SIL's fridge two years after giving it to her.... She let me have it back. Bob
