Fresh Grapes from Old Oak Vineyards

Jul 12, 2003 3 Replies

I just got my latest issue of Wine Maker Magazine (BTW, it has a nice article about Lum Eisenman) and found an insert add from Old Oak Vineyards in Ocampo, CA for fresh grapes (44 lb. boxes) at approx. $70.00/box (including shipment). I guess it would take 2 boxes to make a 6 gal batch, so $5.40 per bottle would not be bad. Has anyone had any experience with this company and their grapes?

That sounds expensive, especially this year when grape prices are supposed to be lower. I usually pay about $1.00-1.10 per pound.

Is that price for shipping or picking it up there?

Presque Isle doesn't ship. But you can crush there. Tim
