Do Grenache grape blend well with other varieties, if so which would be the better choice? I'm planning on doing a dry red and a Rosé with these, from the same 5 gallon batch is there a procedure to do both or should I do them separately? How long should I leave the Rosé on the skins? Louise:o)

Grenache blends well with wines with a lot of body such as syrah. As unblended syrah can take a few years to develop. Blend it with a lighter wine and it can be very good in a year. Tim

It makes a wonderful Rose, I make it every few years. It has a great perfume quality about it. I get it off the skins within a few hours.
That blend is pretty common in the Rhone Valley of France. It really blends well with Syrah, but I would not be concerned blending it with anything. My Syrah comes from the central valley. It needs only a year or so to develop so that's not a compelling need in my case.
