Soloman Grundy wine kit

Hi folks

I don't usually use kits for winemaking but on this occasion.................the local shop had a sale on so I thought I'd try one of the Soloman Grundy seven day kits. Anyone know what the quality of this wine will be like? Obviously, in seven days I'll be able to answer this question myself but in the meantime.................!!!

Thanks

I'm currently fermenting my 3rd 23 litre kit. I was surprised by the quality of the first I did, which because I was in a hurry to have it for Christmas I ended up dispensing from a 5 gallon CO2 pressure beer keg. I bottled the next batch and it's very drinkable. Don't worry if the process takes longer than 7 days. Make sure fermentation is completely finished and I'm leaving it a little longer at the clearing stage to avoid a sediment in the bottles.

Thanks for the tip, Jupiter - you're right! The fermentation is still going almost almost three weeks since starting the wine. Haven't had a taste yet but I'll take your word that it's drinkable!

That's rather a long time. Have you had it at a low temperature? They usually go fiercely at around 70deg. I'll be bottling my latest one tomorrow. It's a Rose and went right down to 0.990 SG in 5 days. It'll need sweetening a bit as it's fermented right out and tastes very dry.
