SuperKleer aftertaste

I recently fined a 5 gallon carboy of Black Malvoisie that wouldn't clear with SuperKleer KC. I have used this fining agent several times in the past as it produces rapid results. However, I noticed that it seemed to impart an aftertaste in the wine that I hadn't noticed before.

To be certain that it was the SuperKleer causing the aftertaste, I compared the fined wine with a magnum (of the same wine) that hadn't been fined and there was a definite difference in the taste profile. It seems to leave somewhat of a salty taste. Has anyone experienced this before?

I have used SuperKlear several times to clear hard to clear wines. It has become my method of choice as it is so easy and quick. I have not noticed the aftertaste but will watch for it. Was this immediately after? How long did you wait. To taste test. I would be very interesting to see if the taste is there a week later (when I usually rack off the sediment) and then again at the next racking which might be a month or 3 later when I bottle. Will watch for it.
