Bishops Farewell?

Is there anyone on here who thinks this is not, at the moment, quite as good as it was?

Had a few pints of it at various different locations around the here and it does not seem as good as it has been before. I also know of one local outlet that has ceased stocking it and the place where I do a bit of cellar work had it fobbing up a bit.

Why not contact the brewery direct rather than run the risk of damaging their reputation through idle gossip on usenet?

A moment's reflection will give you the answers to that question.

1) The brewery will fob him off, saying "no-one else has complained", or "it's meant to taste like that", or words to that effect. So he's making reasonable enquiries to find out if his experience is unique or not. 2) If ever there were a place for idle gossip, it's Usenet. Welcome to our world.

Personally I've not tried it recently but I can confidently state that it is not as good as it was. Joyce's Second Law of Drinking: No beer ever tastes as good as it did the first time you encountered it.

I took a seriously dodgy pint (of something else) back recently. The barmaid said the usual "g'day mate, don't drink the stuff myself, I'll check with the boss", poured a half and disappeared, to reappear in a great hurry saying "he spat it all over the floor, which I guess means yes, it's off"

Lucky you, being served by one of the intelligentsia.

Oh well nothing to worry about after all Looks like its in better shape. A new 18 of it arrived via Caskmaster on Wedenesday and an early investigation revealed that it was back to its usual excellent self.

Yippee!
