2010 Domaine Jean Bousquet Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva

Found this in a store I sometimes go to. It is new to them. They hurried to show me their new stash of Cornas (e.g. 2012 Vincent Granite 60), which th ey know I like, and Stag's Leap SLV. But I wasnt looking for an expensive b ottle today.

It seems more french than American continent in that it is more "Tight" and acidic than e.g. California cabs and Argentina wines. It is adequately pri ced and has the expected concentration and mouthfeel for the price range. I t has more red fruits than black ones typically associated with cabs, some tannins to lick your teeth, and medium finish. A bit of earthiness, but I w ish for more. No unpleasant notes. Meets my threshold. I wouldnt be interes ted in the non reserve.

They also have Malbec basic, reserve and grand reserve. Im curious about th e GR. French styled Argentina malbec, hmm. Cahors? shudder...
