Can anyone in the U.S give me information on buying beer from Belgium Shop

We're you happy with the delivery? Did you have to pay duty when the beer arrived? Was the beer in good condition when it arrived?

Any additional information would be appreciated.

Hi Ray,

I haven't tried them yet but the testimonials on their site are very encouraging. I'm looking at the Rochefort 8...priced at US$3.60. Half the price I paid from a US online store and.... the shipping costs appear to be very reasonable. In fact, I just now placed an order. I'd be happy to let you know how things turn out.

Best regards, Bill

PS: The number of beers on the site "boggle" my mind!

Thanks Bill,

I've been looking a lot and am very impressed by their web site and selection. Please let me know how it goes for you. I'm looking to buy a couple of cases of beer that I can't get in Texas. The Trappist beers are especially interesting to me.

I'll, for sure, let you know. So far, I've dealt with 5 on line retailers and the service has been exemplary. I'm sure the Belgiumshop will *not* be an exception.

Btw, I ordered some Rochefort 8, Orval, Leffe Blonde, Antiek Blond, and Gordon Finest Blond. If everything goes ok, I'll give the more exotic styles a go next time.

Best regards, Bill

I just recently ordered beer from belgianshop.com. The shipping was quite expensive; however, it's an opportunity to try some great beers that aren't imported into the US. They arrived FedEx in a large box with lots of packing popcorn and each bottle was double wrapped in bubble wrap. The condition was perfect! There is no duty the packing slip claimed it was sample soda of no value. My bill was $84 for beer and almost $80 shipping! I don't know what state your in but there are US shops that ship beer. Vintagecellars.com in Virginia has an excellent selection. In Florida Worldofbeer.com in Clearwater is great.

what's some other great online beer shops?

Here are some that I use:

I've dealt with each of them and they all wowed me with their service. Hope that helps.

Hi Raymond,

I got my shipment from Belgian shop yesterday...12 days after ordering. My hat's off to them. It was packaged very well and Fed Ex did nothing to give me the impression that any damage could have been done. Now, all that's left for me to do is to enjoy the brews. I'm sipping on an Orval as I'm typing this. It was bottled on 09 07 2003 which, of course, means July 9th, 2003. Very fresh and very tasty but all you guys know that already. ;^) I think I'll save the other bottle and the 4 Rochefort 8s...and work on them there blondes.

Best regards, Bill

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a good place to do business with. One of my favorite Belgium beers that I can get in Dallas is Triple Karmalite (sp?). If you get a chance try it. Enjoy your beer!

Ahh...I checked on hitimewines.... KARMELIET TRIPEL

Thanks for the tip!

Best regards, Bill

Seriously good stuff, can get it right up the road (hee hee). It'd be a tough battle between that or Allagash Tripel as kings of the tripel world.
