??
phat tire is a wonderfull Belgian style ale brewed in colorado, us. Boulder I believe. The story is the idea came after a flat tire while riding through the Belgium. My wife loves the balance. to me it is a great beer for sipping all day.
The ?? refers to the fact that its "Fat Tire" not "Phat Tire" silly.
Hehe...I've used Fat Tire as a "springboard" to introduce more complex beers to friends of mine. The trouble, around these here parts, is getting them to appreciate good Belgian Style Ales ala Trippel and Abbey from New Belgium. Oh well, it took me quite the time to "jump the fence" too so hope springs eternal.
Best regards, Bill
Actually, Jon, I'm not wrong. It's not particularly estery -- how long since you've had one? It's dull, boring, uninspiring, over-crystal malted, and utterly lacking in definitive esters. Maybe I'm not the one who is having problems with his palate.

Sorry, I have not seen it in two years ;-(
I thought it was phat, not fat. still, the flavor changed after the first big distribution. the first ones on tape and in the half liter bottles was great. The stuff that came later in the 0.33 bottles and on tap was just good.
