Just tried a bottle of Banana Bread from Tesco's....... a bit undecided.

Charles Wells .. 5.2.%

Anybody tried the coffee beer that Sainsbury's are currently stocking ?

Yes actually - quite nice. Hint of coffee-ness to it.

I quite like it, it's been floating around local pubs and supermarkets like Asda here for a while. Not to everybody's taste, and I get a bloody awful hangover if I combine it with anything else tho ;-))

Can't stand the stuff. To be honest, it's hard to get past the aroma.

I have (assuming you mean the stuff from Meantime). I actually thought it worked very well. I've got a bottle of the chocolate one as well, but haven't tried it yet.

I personally think the coffee one is better than the chocolate one. Mind you the chocolate one wasn't bad once you got used the the juxtaposition of coffee and lager tastes. I started off assuming it was an ale and couldn't work out why it tasted odd.

I second that. It's hangover in a bottle if you mix it. Try Schneider Weisse, Orval (two of the worst beers to mix IME) and Banana Bread in the same sitting and see if you fancy work the next morning. Ouch!

I love it!!!!!! They do a cask version (not sure if it's seasonal) but trying to find it out of its local area is not easy :-(
