Beer in London Docklands

Apr 28, 2005 3 Replies

I've a few weeks work coming up in central London, but I'll be staying near the ExCel Centre in Docklands. As I may be venturing out in the evenings in search of a drop of the real stuff, I wondered if anyone could recommend good pubs, either in the immediate vicinity, or within reach of a DLR station not too far from Prince Regent.

All suggestions gratefully received.

So Docklands would appear to be a RA desert then? Looks like suffering the Boddies in the hotel then. Ho hum :-(

The Wetherspoons on West India Quay isn't bad, the cellerman seems to be OK and the staff are no more indifferent tham most of JDWs. The beer is cheap (for London) and generally very good.

You could always get the DLR to Greenwich, a few good pubs there, or even to Bank.

The problem as always in London is there are many, many fine pubs - but you need to travel.

The problem with most other areas of the country is that there are more decent pubs, but you need to travel. :-)

Oh, and the rest of the country is full of that fresh air stuff which can't be good for you - after all it isn't orange.
