Brewery in Skipton??

Will be coming across for a Springtime walk and pub crawl in the Yorks Dales. Will be starting in Haworth, then up thru Hawes and Askrigg, etc. Looking for pubs and breweries along the way.

Anyway -- have heard a rumour of a new brewery in Skipton. Anybody got any info on this?

Also, where in the Keighly/Haworth area is best for finding Timothy Taylor ales like landlord??

cheers,

charles

The last new brewery in Skipton is Copper Dragon which opened about a year ago. Abosultely superb beers, the head brewer was somewhat wasted in his previous job brewing Websters. Their website

has a list of outlets.

There is a new very small brewery (9 gallon brewplant weekend brewing only) in the Oxenhope area under the name Leeming Waters, but I think you'll be very lucky to find some of that around.

Thanks for all the info. The Copper Dragon website is really nice; looking forward to their ales. Also will check for the Oxenhope brews as well.

We have had many goods quaffs from really small breweries, like Dipton Mill, High Force, and a small brewery near Gunnerside that brewed SwaledAle. Gonna try and find them again as well. Sound like a wonderful trip already.

Wouldn't bother with High Force or Swaled Ales as neither have brewed for a couple of years now.

Also forgot The Waggon and Horses, Oxenhope on the Oxenhope-Hebden Bridge road, but a good climb out of Oxenhope, who have been brewing since last summer using the name Oxenhope Moorlands.
