Budget - 4p on a pint

And guess what - CAMRA, as a matter of policy, supports the system that allows this to happen.

You're confusing "value" and "price".

But-

There's a big red button there marked "do not press" and he just pressed it.

Hi

Out of curiosity, where did you buy the new seals? I bought a hand pump last year (it cost me £5) and although it works fine, it really needs new seals. I have e-mailed Angram about the cost of new seals a couple of times now with nil response from them.

I too have been brewing my own (full mash) for several years - starting the process by actually milling the grain myself (I have to buy mail order, it is cheaper to buy in bulk and the storage time for whole grain is far longer than pre-crushed).

By coincidence, we had a party last night and my homebrews were in great demand - I now have a kitchen full of undrunk supermarket beer to get rid off (probably at the next party I go to!!). There were many comments about my brews, all comparing it favourably with my local prize-winning brewpub. As you say, the cost of homebrew is only a few pence a pint, and by brewing it "properly" (full mash) it tastes like a decent real ale and does NOT have that typical home brew kit taste.

My mini-brewery has paid for itself many times over by now.

is it fair to point out though JDW have lately reported a 13% drop in profits, and so might well be loss leading at the moment to pull customers back.

Aw

The message from "KGB" (KGB) contains these words:

Apologies for the delayed response. My pump is a Gaskell & Chambers water cooled model. I bought the seals from Henry Mason Ltd., 217 Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham B7 5HS Tel:0121 328 5900
