Budwieser

Hello All,

Sorry if this is the wrong group for this sort of question but i've been looking for an answer to this question for ages.

Does anyone know of a UK reseller of Bud Light? or even an online reseller?

Many Thanks

Dave :)

Be interesting to see if anyone here owns up to knowing that! But seriously, why exactly, would you want to drink (very), diluted, piss?

As you'll have worked out by now, it is indeed the wrong newsgroup. I'll try to avoid being rude.

Give or take the incorrect spelling of _Budweiser_, this is a newsgroup for real ale enthusiasts. Bud Light is about as far from real ale as you can get.

Have a look at the newsgroup charter:

No, I'm not going to own up to drinking it, but I might be able to suggest why someone might! - AFAIK it's a US "light" beer - low in carbohydrates (not alcohol, it's c5%abv IIRC?) & therefore suited to the popular low-carb diets, especially the Atkins Diet.

If the OP wants a low carb ale I think Marston's do a bottled one (formerly called Low-C, not sure what it's called now, but I saw it in a dodgy discount superstore last week - along with an export only Tennents strong stout!

If OP wants a low-carb lager, Coors released one here, but I think it flopped & was discontinued, I don't know if US Bud brewers, AnnheuserBusch have launched theirs here, I think they did - a call or email to their HQ in London or a t'internet search might elicit an answer?

cheers (& with something better than BudLight too - O'Hanlon's Port Stout, still on the shelves of the post-Morrison-takeover Safeway, along with some other beauties & at keen prices too) MikeMcG.

No, no. You're thinking of Bud Ice...

Surely, this is only of use if beer is the major source of carbohydrates in your diet. In which case, there's something badly wrong with your diet anyway. What happened to Bud Dry? Wasn't that a low carb alternative?

Thanks for your reply.

Dave, when I read your original post I assumed you were trolling. A-B Budweiser is *the* hate brand among British real ale fans, for a number of reasons (not least their obsessive legal persecution of Budweiser Budvar, the real Budweiser from the Czech Republic). We don't drink much Bud Light around these parts..

As others have said, the Marstons beer that used to be called Low C is a reasonable choice for a low carb beer. It doesn't taste too bad as bottled beers go. You can find it in Wolverhampton & Dudley pubs and in some supermarkets. The German 'diat pils' beers are a good alternative if you like a lager taste.

But everyone seems to know what it tastes like :-}

Me? I cannot comment on BL. I stick to real ale :-)
