This year I couldn't find any Christmas themed real ale "gift" packs - you know the ones that contain a bottle of beer along with a pint glass in Christmas themed packaging.
Christmas 2003 saw plenty of these packs but, try as I might, I couldn't find 1 this year.
Were they available anywhere?

I saw them in various places - BHS, M&S and in tesco. Tesco also had a "beers of the world" pack. It didn't have any beer, but has a bottle opener and a book about beers from around the world.
So, there certainly some available. We also saw an increase in people wanting their Discworld Beers and glassware gift packed.

They were abundant up here - a bottle of beer plus an extra 2 pounds for a red cardboard box.
Best value of the year pre-Xmas...
1 bottle of Hoegaarden (out of date, but hey, who cares!) 2 x half pint Hogaarden glasses £1 a pack at Job Lot, Rotherham.You could afford to chuck the beer and just keep the glasses... wish I'd bought more than the two now!
