From 1 January 2007, Camra wil be making a surcharge of £2 for anyone renewing their membership by anything other than Direct Debit.
I have renewed my membership by cheque every year since I joined in 1974, and feel that this is an insult to the loyalty of many members that do not like Direct Debits.
I for one will not be renewing my membership in 2007, this will cost Camra my annual subscription, my £1000 per year to the Investment Club, and other monies such as a £5 book of tickets for the Camra Draw. It is madness for the campaign to throw away all this good will because of the inconvenience of completing a bank paying in slip and taking the cheques to the bank.
