Dock and Pulpit, Salford 3, Lancs

If anyone remembers the Dock & Pulpit (previously The Borough) off Chapel Street in Salford 3, Lancs, apparantly, it is now up for sale (at last!), so, is there anyone out there who wants to buy a real ale pub? I will check for myself Friday night to see who the agent selling it is, we could do with another pub to crawl to after the Kings and before the Crescent. Oh, and the Oxford on Bexley Sq has re opened, and has Bazens and Boggart on and more to come.

Interesting. But it's not a real ale pub until someone re-opens it - with proper beer. For now it's just a derelict old building that's not been occupied since the last century.

Looking on the bright side - at least it's not been torched, like Ye Olde Nelson.

When did it close? I remember going to a friends birthday bbq there a few years back just before it did close (may have been landlords do), I'm sure it was this century, I may have blocked the trauma of it closing from my memory as it is one of my first real ale experiences and I adored it, wish I had the money to buy it!!

Dunno, but before 2000 anyway.

A quick Google turned up an interesting article that suggests the D and P may have a brighter future as a "bar/restaurant/gallery": .
