Marquess Tavern, Islington - win dinner for 2.

I know some feel that the word prefix "gastro" is best left to go with the suffix "entiritis", but . . . to coincide with the launch of Will & Fiona Beckett's new beer cuisine book "An Appetite for Ale", Borders bookshop are offering a chance to win dinner for 2(*) at the current Time Out Gastro Pub of the Year - Marquess Tavern, Islington (run by Will Beckett's Green&Red/Underdog group?).

(*)up to £100 - some pub grub, eh? - though I did read on BITE that they were offering a bottled beer at £22 a bottle - anyone know which beer? - I really hope it's not the Jeroboam of Leffe they mention online)

oddly though, the Time Out website has 'Rosendale' (65 Rosendale Rd, SE21 8EZ) as their Gastro Pub of the Year - maybe The Marquess won last year?

anyway, if you want to enter the competition - closing 31stOct -

I used to be a regular at the Marquess - great place when it was an 'ordinary' if rather plush pub.
