there's a bit more detail here
sounds fair enough
only trouble I have is finding out how to add a new pub? - surely it should be somewhere on the homepage!?
(ah, OK, I found it via the FAQ - feels like maybe they don't really want any more pubs? :~)
cheers, MikeMcG.

Funny you should say that - I've recommended loads over the last year that have never appeared. I spoke to them on the phone yesterday & emailed them with a a list of new pubs. We shall see if they appear.

I'm not sure who is in the 'team' whose opinions count more than us lesser mortals, either.
I think I read that part of the reason for the takeover deal was that the previous non-profit folks were maybe struggling with the workload of uploading comments & new pubs? cheers MikeMcG

I didn't have any trouble finding it just now
In the past I have just filled in the web form and it appeared. I've just suggested another one - I'll let you know how long it takes!

Is the link to the form on the homepage? I just had another look & still couldn't see it! (what did you click on? - I searched for "suggest" or "add" & couldn't find anything)
I suggested one yesterday too, so we'll see.
BTW - anyone spotted that the top few pubs have changed in the last couple of weeks -
- The Rook and Gaskill - York
- The Ship Inn - Wandsworth (& errr . . . & down from last week's toppermost no.1 spot pubpickers its . . .)
- The Wenlock Arms - Hoxton
Is the Wandsworth (& York) pub(s) really better than TheWenlock, or are we getting vote-rigging or sumat?
& the scores are still odd - top 2 pubs are 7.6 & 7.5, with the rest of the top 21 all on 7.4cheers MikeMcG

When I'm in Hoxton I'll rush over to Wandsworth if needs be.

I think its just easier to get a higher overall percentage with the minimum
25 ratings (Rook & Gaskill no 1.).Much harder to keep this up with 275 ratings (Wenlock Arms No 3).

I see there has to be 25 ratings for a pub to be included in the list.
If you have ever been to the Prince of Wales Foxfield, can you go and rate it - it has only 7 ratings so far and deserves to be in the top
40 list, at least!!- Vote on answer

I was looking at pubs in my county, scrolled down to the very bottom of the page and there is was - and still is!!
Tiny coloured band almost at the bottom of the page - just above "advanced pub search" and "full text search"

I'm a big fan of the Rook (I'd like to assume my one vote of 10 points on it since this thread appeared wouldn't be enough to bump it that far) and my best man spent the last 2 years living on the same road as the Wenlock. While I quite like the beer selection for the area, salt beef sandwiches and pissed ranting about bikes from John at the latter, I'd rather live 10 mins from the Rook + Gaskill with their beautiful home made chili (normal, veggie, hot, insane) and their 365 guests last year with 10-12 on at any time, and few of them last more than a couple of days. Oh, and if you want it can be buy 8 get 1 free from a reduced selection too. Rook + Gaskill is a part of the Tynemill pub chain though, is it typical? If they're all like this I'd have thought there'd have been some observation of its standards on here.

Is it me, or shouldn't the "suggest a pub" button/form be on the flipping homepage?
mmm, to me it still doesn't exactly sound like "without any trouble"!
You have to either go via the "county" listing or the FAQ & then click again to actually get to the "suggest a pub" form. I wonder do they maybe make it difficult, so that you'll more thoroughly search the listings to see if anyone's reviewed it already? cheers MikeMcG

Just looking at the BITE website at the recently added field, below the top
10 on the Bite home page.Do they have to visit every pub before its added to the website?
