Mi Lord Raglan

Hi, I wonder if this pub is known about? Excellent rage of beers including the Nanny Flyer. Not sure about how the name of the beer came about except that the carpark seems to be above a severe cliff north of Bolton. BW.... Chris F.

Probably Nangreave, between Bury (not Bolton) and Ramsbottom.

No idea about the cliff. Maybe he's suffering from beer rage. :-)

Well, at least I know it is in my neck of the woods.

Thanks for that, I will look out for their beers.

The beer is called Nanny Flyer after the bus that goes to Nangreve!

Hi, Ah so! And that would be the name of the place, then? I have tosay that I've never been there in the 'light nights'. However, Ramsbottom is the venue for the obligatory post session curry. And when in the car park lookinhg out towards that 'Chimney' thing on the opposite hill, the lights in the separating valley below gave me the impression that the pub is on the edge of a precipiece. If it isn't, its no reason to stop drinking the beer! BW.... Chris F.

The pub has been in the GBG for several years now. The Leyden family have owned the pub for over 50 years and are known locally as being somewhat eccentric. The 465 "Nanny Flyer" still runs hourly during the day between Bury and Nangreaves, although it's somewhat more modern than the bus portrayed on the pumpclip. No cliffs nearby but plenty of fields:)

Hi, .. and I thought it was a link to my (mis)spelling in line 3 (above). He he! Bolton in Lancashire, but in reality it is nearer to Bury (in Lancashire) BW.... Chris F.
