Hi all,
Has anyone got any idea where I can sell some firkins that I don't need anymore. I know this is not really the right place but I am sure someone must know where small brewers go looking for second-hand equipment!

How many do you have for sale? What material are they made of? What sort of price are you selling at?
where are you based?
Try SIBA - .
Thanks for the replies. Having just found and read the kegwatch page I realise that I have to follow certain guidelines on the disposal of these casks, especially as I believe that they are registered on the kegwatch system. I bought these about nine years ago, at that time I owned a pub and often had special beers brewed so bought 10 firkins to make my life easier. They are in good condition and stainless steel. I have asked kegwatch for guidance and also if the one I lost after lending it to a brewer is anywhere! I will go and look at the SIBA page now.
Best regards,

I would say have a word with your nearest micro, if they're SS casks & in good nick they will prob want them.
Another option is to try a cask reconditioner (Keg Services is the only one I know of) - they clean, check, repair, re-brand & sell 2nd-hand casks.
I recently heard the tale of the demise of UK's last few cask manufacturers - allegedly a French co. (Maisonneuve) undercut them all ( >> anymore.
