Does anyone on here know any more about this pub. It's located on Platform
1B at Sheffield station, opened In December and apparently has 20 different beers on.
Experience suggests that if you have too many beers on quality might be an issue (anyone remember The Overdraught in Bradford?)

There are eight handpumps.
Four offering Thornbridge beers (changing quickly)
The other four were offering Brew Dog beers last week.
Beer quality is first class and the turnover ensures it should continue.
Probably has over twenty beers a week.

Excellent pub. Has a good selction of Czech lagers amongst others. Being owned by the group who own the York Pivo Bar, be prepared for Bernard on draught.>

I picked up the "Penistone Line Express" yesterday (it's the magazine promoting the Sheffield - Penistone - Huddersfield railway line). This had an article about the Sheffield Tap and says that "the plant is to keep four regular Thornbridge ales whilst having four rotating seasonal beers from Thornbridge plus other breweries".
"Dating from from 1905, this Grade 2 listed building is one of the finest preserved examples of a Midland Railway Refreshment Room. Closed in 1976 it has been fully restored and re-opened for business on Saturday 5th December."
"The building had suffered much weather damage and vandalism and it has required careful restroation to transform the building back to its former glory whilst retaining its vaulted ceilings, tiled walls, mahogany bar and terrazzo flooring. The Railway Heritage Trust has donated GBP 60,000 towards the restoration of the building which has been carried out to a very high standard."
More details, including a pdf version of the magazine, at .
