Have just received the news that Ken Longford of Cambridge branch of Camra, aka the Hairy Womble, passed away. I'm sure there will be those on this list that have come into contact with him at some stage, so I'm posting his notice.
Among Great British Beer Festival circles, he is perhaps best known for discovering the "Aladin's Cave" of stolen goods at the last Leeds festival, but he was a steward at the festival for many years. He has been active in Cambridge Camra for many years - indeed, I believe he was one of the founders of the branch - and did all sorts of things for their festival. He will be missed.
