Thomas Sykes Old Ale

I was at the recent Poole beer festival and their program said that the above ale was now brewed by Burton Bridge.

Is this true and if so when did the Bass Museum boys pass it over?

Someone has just told me Burton Bridge have always brewed it.

That'll teach me to drink too much of it in one go...........................

My bottle says 'Brewed by the Heritage Brewery'. Can't remember when I bought it, but it was before 1990, and could have been as early as 1980.

The Heritage Brewery was the name of the working brewery museum in Burton based at the old Everards Brewery on Anglesey Road. Nothing to do with the Bass Museum as was. They originally produced Thomas Sykes Ale. When the brewery closed a pub remained on the site call the Thomas Sykes and Burton Bridge continued making the Ale for them.
