Victoria Inn, Llanbedr

Has anyone been to this pub, or know anything about it? What beers do they serve or have they served in the past? I'm staying nearby in a few weeks time, and I wanted to know a bit about it! Any other good pubs nearby?

Nope: there's only the Red Lion in Llanbedr. (Crickhowell) or the Griffin in Llanbedr (nr Ruthin) ah I think there maybe be several churches dedicated to St Peter in Wales...

but, if you mean the one near the coast sth of Harlech:

It was OK about 10 yrs ago, Banks IIRC on measured pump - though 1 pint looked dubious on the lined glass! GBG recommends the Ty Mawr hotel just up stream. but I had a bottle of cheap Perry at the hostel.

Very nice area, North Wales - shame about the beer though. Had a few days in the area last year and the real ale situation was overall VERY disappointing.

I had been hoping - probably like you - to taste something interesting new and exiting or at the least different from my norm' in Buxton Derbyshire. But there is more to enjoy than real ale to be honest - and bottles in pubs to drink too if you want.

The Vic' you mention, (unusual pub name in those parts btw) IIRC is a Robinson's pub - (long way from Stockport) but the Robinson's Bitter was not good at all on the day.

I actually had a nice Guinness in one of them after the Robinson's and enjoyed it more and in another I tried the single malt whiskys and red wine one night I was so fed up. Others seemed to serve Banks Bitter, Marston's Pedigree. Ped' is OK, but I'm not a tremendous fan of either really.

Go there for the fresh air, fantastic scenery, incredible history and culture and go to Conwy too - it is a gorgeous place - loads of history to lose yourself in and the atmosphere of the place to experience. Better beer too with a few free houses with guest ales.
