Hi
We'll be spending a week just south of Gainsborough in Lincolnshire soon. Can anyone recommend pubs that do food in the area, please?
Thanks
Andrew

Big food pub next to the Trent bridge here where it says PH in the middle. It's serves food all day.
Isn't it a Brewer's Fayre, though (or it was a few years ago)?
Does it even serve real ale (as most BFs seem to have stopped doing so)?

Fair point, the last time I went there it was a chain pub ( I think it had hand pulled Boddys though), but I've visited the Brewer's Fayre and Beefeater websites to try and get the actual name and it doesn't appear on either. The OP had asked for a food pub primarily and these outlets are good for food as they serve it all day, have a decent menu and an easy ordering format. The Ferry House in nearby East Stockwith serves real ale and good food, but it's a pig to get to and doesn't serve food all day.
A lot of other pubs serve better food, but only in 2 hour windows by and large. Used to use chain pubs a lot when the children were small - you could visit one in Essex or Cumbria and knew what you'd get before you walked in. You could carry the small booklet in the car and find one nearby anywhere in the country. This was after I got fed up at driving out of my way to CAMRA recommended pubs, only to find that they'd stopped serving food 10 minutes ago.
I belive your talking about the 'Trent Port'
