I have found a neat device that deals with the toilet door handle issue in pubs clubs and restaurants. It is called a wakmah and it is very good fun to use if not a little retentive

The issue is when there is no handle, its been broken off, I think It was in a club IF I remember rightly.

If someone can come up with a solution to the 'missing lock' problem better than carrying a screwdriver to jam in (awkward to carry, unpopular with security staff and not effective for all locks) I'll be more interested.
Then we can aim for the more challenging 'missing door' oh so popular in rough dives... ;)
