Einbecker Ur-Maibock

Got ahold of some of this recently, and despite a mild skunking, it still seemed like a damn fine beer. But, my experience with maibocks is limited. I assume (yeah, I know) that being from Eibeck, it would be a good example of the style. Comments?

Their dark Ur-Bock is very good too--it's not as syrupy sweet & heavy as Munich doppelbocks.

Thanks for the tip. I haven't seen it around here, but I'll keep my eyes open.

I recently picked up some of the Einbecker Mai Ur-Bock, too. Yes, it had a slight whiff of skunk that blew off fairly quickly, but it was pretty good otherwise. A bit less deeply malty and more bitter than the Ayinger Maibock, for example.

Haven't seen the Ayinger Maibock around here, but I'll keep my eyes open for it. Ayinger dunkel is one of my staples! Thanks, Joel.
