Water Filters

I have poor water, slightly sulfurous, what filtering solutions are suggested?

I have a Culligan reverse-osmosis system installed. (The filters and reservoir are in the basement, and there is an extra spigot on the kitchen sink for the filtered water.

When they change the filters there is a thick brown layer of gunk on the outside of the filters.

Having said all that, I don't know if a reverse osmosis system will filter out the sulpherous taste......

You don't say whether you're looking for a whole house solution, or just an extra spigot at the kitchen sink. If the latter, this is the one I have, and I can heartily recommend it:

There are a number of filterations offered that should take care of the problem. If you want a link to some info check

there are some links there that will take you to info about water purification and also some links to some water purifiers. it's not that expensive to filter your water, and after all what is one of the most important ingredients to a good cup of Java? CLASS? WATER - PURE CLEAR CLEAN WATER :-)

Hope that helps you find the info and stuff you need. John Owner Coffee-n-Caffeine
