First Beer

Jul 06, 2005 2 Replies

I'm brewing my first ale in a cupboard where the temperature is generally

16C, but sometimes falls below this.

I know that 18C-24C is recommended for fermentation - will the lower temperature mean that my beer is irreparably damaged or will the process just take longer than usual ?

Any help appreciated

Should be fine. Might take a bit longer than normal. Check that fermentation is complete before bottling.
