infection?

I recently decided to begin brewing again (after a 5 year vacation). Two weeks after bottling there are strange floaties at the top of the bottles. If I slightly shake the bottle they seem to settle to the bottom. Is this an infection or is it something that is precipitating out due to pressure or something? Could it be related to my water? The beer tastes fine. Much better than domestic beer. I can't believe I quite brewing!!!

Thanks for your Philip

Hopefully you'll get a more definitive answer... but I had that same thing once, long ago. I think at the time I decided it was a form of light mold. Bottom line... if the beer tastes fine, don't worry about it (RDWHAHB). :) It never happened again.

I showed one of the beers to my local homebrew shop. They said it was small hop particles which got carried to the top during conditioning. They recommended gently shaking each bottle.
