mash tun screen

I picked up two kegs at a local bar this evening. One will be for mashing and the other for boiling. I'd like to get some recommendations on filtering screens for the mashing tun and for spigots for both. Thanks for any advice.

a buddy of mine built something out of 3/4" copper pipe that seems to work a lot better than screens or stuff with holes drilled in it... he laid out copper tubing around the bottom of the cooler with crossbars acrss the whole floor of the cooler. He used a band saw to cut 1/3 to 1/2 the way into the copper tube at 1/4" intervals. the slots are face down in the cooler.

This gives him a huge number of slots for the mash water to flow into.

He swears that he rarely has stuck mash problems.

I have seen the copper tube cut with a ban saw and it worked really well.

Well, good luck...I've seen that design stick tight as recently as last weekend. Had to take the mash (50% unmalted wheat/25% rye malt/25% pale malt) out of that tun and put it in mine, where it lautered perfectly. Hope you have better luck!
