CA - Central Coast and South

Hello,

I've gotten great advice for some other locatons, so here I am again.

In late October till early November, my wife, a friend, and I will be out to visit Santa Barbara, Paso Robles, and Laguna Beach.

We are staying at Justin Vineyards while in Paso Robles, as my friend is a member.

So, I have a few questions, and thanks in advance to anyone who offers advice!

What are some good wineries to visit while in those areas, or nearby? We were thinking if visiting Turley, Sanford, and possibly Foxen, but a lot of those I see named are unfamiliar.

Also, any experience with the restaurant at Justin? Other places to eat? As we're from upstate New York, restaurants that give us the chance to try some local wines not available to us here is a treat. Any recommendations to stay in Santa Barbara, we're all set in the other places.

Again, thanks!

David

Long time no see, David. You may not be aware that we have created a FAQ, which can be found at the URL in my sig. You should have a look at the entries on Paso and Santa Barbara -- they won't answer all your questions, but can serve as a starting point for discussion. Regarding Sanford: it was sold a few years back and the wines IMO have taken a turn for the worse.

Thank you, Mark. Yes, there is plenty of good information there.

In Paso Robles, the recommended restaurants do not include the establishment at Justin. Any comments on that?

Also, perhaps i'm not familiar with the geographic area, but I didn't see anything down near Laguna Beach. I thought was wasn't too far deom Temecula, or perhaps another region.

Finally, I did have some interest in Ojai, but their website says no visitors. Is that really the case, or is it to keep casual visitors away?

Thanks aga>> Hello,
