Re: Tips on removing hopsack from carboy

Or am I going about this "Dry hopping" all wrong?

PS this is my 3rd batch (first two were great)

I tried my first batch with dry hops in my secondary fermenter (a carboy) I > am going to bottle tonight. I plan on just siphoning past the hopsack into the bottle bag and > worry about it later. But what do I do next time? > > Thanks- > > Luke McAllister > > >

No, you're not going about it wrong. Lots of people do just as you did (and are going to do). Some (like me) just toss them in loose. Then use a stainless scrubbie on the end of the racking cane to filer out the hops. Sounds to me like you're right on track.

If it is the same size hopsack I use just leave it and throw it out with the rest of the gunge when you have finished bottling
