Hi Tomas,

Young green puerh I often brew at about 195F. How long greatly depends on the of brewing method. If using a Yixing pot I would start at 30 seconds and adjust from there. A 150ml pot would probably get about 7gr of leaf in my house.

Are you drinking it for enjoyment, or drinking it for taste testing?

If for enjoyment, then just brew it however you like.

If for taste testing, I'd suggest brewing it with water that is boiling hot, in quick infusions with enough leaves that your tea won't be bland. I think for a 150ml yixing it might come to something like 10g of tea. If you are really taste testing, then you should probably also use a fixed amount of dry leaves for all the teas you use.

I noted in one of the videos (refered to on pu-erh.net) the host went through the process of warming his pot, zisha cups and smelling cups etc al, then proceeded to refill the kettle. Would not the pre-heated pot cool too much by the time the kettle had reboiled ? Is this even relevant as long as the pot is warm when the leaf is added ?

I have tended to ensure my kettle is full enough for both the washing of utensils and first few steeps - while still maintaining a small flame under my kettle to keep the water hot.
